Juan and Nick met through junior tennis in Japan and played high-school doubles together. Juan is now based in Washington, DC; Nick works from Asia on product development and design.

Founded in 2020, reString launched Zero in 2022 and expanded into Sync, Vivo, and Slap. The small lineup is designed around distinct jobs rather than a wall of overlapping options.
